Monty Stanley received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University, where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets. He spent many years working for the Department of the Air Force, first as an active duty officer and then a civilian industrial-organizational psychologist. He retired in 2003 and moved to San Angelo with his wife Dinah, a native of Eden. He soon discovered that retired life was not for him. He has been working in the human resources field since then, and is currently the Human Resources Manager for Mayfield Paper Company. He has served on the United Way Concho Valley Board of Directors since 2016, and chaired last year’s Community Impact Council. Monty serves on the board of directors of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas, and is a former board member of Ft Concho Historical Site and the Howard College Business Advisory Council.
“I’m honored to serve as the 2021 United Way Campaign Chair. Our community continuously shows how generous they are when it comes to providing resources in times of need. Having personally visited with every agency supported by the United Way of the Concho Valley, I can attest that each request for funds is fully vetted by community members to ensure donor dollars are being spent in the most efficient and effective way” - Monty Stanley, 2021 United Way Campaign Chair.
